Reiki
Reduce stress, relieve tense muscles, aches and pains, help with emotional healing, worry and grief, calm the nervous system and accelerate healing.
Traditional Usui Reiki is a gentle holistic healing technique that restores energy flow to the body, removes blocks and stagnant energy, opens the chakras and restores balance to the body. Reiki is a safe, gentle and non-invasive therapy that can be a beautiful complement to (and does not interfere with) conventional and alternative treatments.
Why Reiki?
This ancient practice is a wonderful way to proactively support overall physical and mental health as well as provide targeted support as needed.
Reiki fosters deep relaxation, calm and clarity in the body and mind; it can reduce stress, relieve tense muscles, aches and pains, help with emotional healing, worry and grief, calm the nervous system and restore the body's natural ability to heal.
Reiki may be especially helpful if you are struggling with chronic or unexplained symptoms, or if your progress seems stalled as it can boost the effectiveness of other medical treatments by reducing stress on the body and mind.
How does it work?
Reiki works by channeling universal life force energy through the hands of a practitioner to the client. It is believed that by accessing, channeling and balancing the body's energy, releasing stuck energy, emotions, stress and imbalance we can support physical, emotional and mental health.
Energy Centres
Reiki restores energy flow to the bodies energy pathways and seven main chakras, which are believed to be the energy centres of the body. Each chakra represents a different aspect of consciousness and is associated with different organs and systems so opening and aligning them supports both physical and mental health.
What to expect
Reiki treatments take place in a peaceful room with dim light and soft music playing. Lying on a comfortable massage table, fully clothed and covered in a blanket, you will be encouraged to close your eyes, breathe deep and relax into your treatment.
Treatments use very light touch (or none, if you prefer) and will begin with an energy scan and checking of the chakras to assess for blockages or stagnant energy. Practitioners generally begins at the top of your head, laying their hands in various positions, moving down and around the body targeting vital organs & energy centres and responding to your body’s needs.
You will likely feel deeply relaxed during (and after) your treatment. Some people fall asleep, others enjoy the calm or enter a meditative state.
Treatments end with a final cleansing sweep of energy away from the body and checking that the chakras are all open and energy is flowing freely.

You are likely to feel calm, in both body and mind, during your treatment. It’s not uncommon to fall asleep, or you may enter a meditative state, gain clarity or even become emotional.
If you are in-tune with your body and energy you may feel warmth, tingling or release in different areas of your body as we work. Some don’t feel anything much — neither experience is better than the other.
Afterwards, many clients report feeling calm, grounded and more in control of their thoughts and emotions while others are energized and refreshed and/or experiencing relief from physical ailments like back pain, joint stiffness, or headaches and deep restorative sleep that night.

Reiki can be done at a distance if you would like to work with Lindsay but are not local, or if you would like to send healing energy to a friend or family member. Recipients report similar benefits, but we recommend in-person treatment whenever possible.

Reiki is generally considered to be a noninvasive and safe practice without any adverse side effects. Some people experience sensations, like tingling or tiredness, during or after treatment.

Definitely! Reiki is widely considered to be a safe and effective complement to other therapies and conventional medicine. In our experience it is likely to enhance your results and support your healing.
Note: Energy healing is not intended as a substitute for medical care and should not replace recommended medical treatments from licensed physicians and healthcare providers.

Absolutely! Reiki is ideal for kids, they’re so open and as a result, may benefit from it even more than adults.
In my experience, Reiki is a calm and gentle practice which kids enjoy! They are encouraged to rest and relax during our session or talk and ask questions, whatever suits them best. The results are the same either way.
It’s worth noting, many parents (myself included) are sceptical at first that their child will lay still “for that long” but I find that even busy bodies are able to relax longer than expected when receiving. That said, children generally don’t need as much time to see results so shorter sessions are just as effective.

Yes, reiki can be a beautiful way to support our furry family members!
Whether you’re looking to support their general health and happiness or they are dealing with illness, behavioural changes, interpersonal issues (with humans or other animals) or struggling with an injury or signs of aging, reiki can improve physical symptoms, mood and behaviour in any animal.
Animals typically love Reiki and are drawn to the energy and warmth of a session in person though distance Reiki can be just as effective.

Reiki can reduce stress/anxiety, relax tense muscles, promote peace, calm and clarity, help with emotional healing, interpersonal relationships, manifestation and restores the body’s natural ability to heal.

Your comfort is of the utmost importance, so dress comfortably and avoid anything too tight or restrictive. You’ll be fully clothed and covered in a blanket for the duration of your treatment so if you run hot, wear light layers.
You will be asked to put your phone aside and remove any smart watches/rings.
